Brands Embraced Game of Thrones Final Season with Out-of-the-Box Campaigns!

Game of thrones

Winter has come. In the weeks leading up to the new season premiere of popular HBO TV series Game of Thrones (GoT), brands are putting their creative hats on by leveraging on the show to engage consumers through the launch of out-of-box campaigns and online advertisements.

Many brands have embraced it as their duty to welcome the beginning of the Final Season of Game of Thrones with full zeal.

A number of companies have derived various promotion strategies by using the franchise as inspiration. And, Ned Stark’s favorite sentence from the very first episode of Game of Thrones to his untimely beheading, “Winter is coming”, has finally come to fruition.

Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew has a new special Game of Thrones limited edition can that’s available as part of a new ad campaign/contest that’s actually kind of interesting.

The can itself appears to be completely blank. Gone are the garish yellows and greens. Instead, you have a plain white surface. They’re dubbing this “A Can Has No Name” or #ACanHasNoName for the hashtag.

Pepsi has shown a beautiful showcase of the King’s rightful throne through its own version.
